“Not too many people understand this lifestyle,” reasoned
Hanrahan. “We spend holidays alone. We have to explain to our
kids why daddy isn’t home. There are no date nights and people
don’t get it. I don’t know what I would do without the women
I’m closest with.”
Hanrahan hopes to form a ladies auxiliary for the Local.
“We can do community fundraising to take the tarnish off
cops,” she added. “And this being such a positive thing will
