Safariland’s acquisition of Atlantic
Tactical is good news for all
The Safariland Group, a leading global provider of a diverse range
of safety and survivability products designed for the public safety,
military, professional and outdoor markets, acquired Atlantic Tactical, Inc., on Jan. 20. Atlantic Tactical is a leading distributor of lifesaving equipment and uniforms for law enforcement and public
safety officers via its five retail stores in the northeast as well as direct
and e-commerce sales. Atlantic Tactical began doing business with
Safariland in 1989 and became an exclusive Safariland armor distributor in 1995.
“Safariland’s long-term strategy is underscored by our productdriven orientation. We believe in the power of brands and innovation. We believe equally in the power of distribution to
communicate with and serve our valued agencies and end-users,”
said Safariland President Scott O’Brien. “Safariland strives to foster
a culture of teamwork and partnership with all of our stakeholders,
including our associates, our vendors, and our customers.”
Sean Conville, president of Atlantic Tactical, along with his management and sales teams, will continue to run Atlantic Tactical and
day-to-day operations will remain unchanged. Safariland will continue to maintain its other operations in the northeast, including its
regional sales team dedicated to supporting other distribution partners in that area of the country.
“I’ve worked with Safariland for a long time and this transaction
is an excellent outcome for Atlantic Tactical’s stakeholders and provides a compelling strategic fit for our future,” said Conville. “We are
excited to have Safariland’s financial and strategic support to help
Atlantic Tactical continue to grow and expand as we have for the last
several years.” d
Brody’s Believers benefit
Children’s Specialized Hospital
On April 25, Edison Local 75 will host Brody’s Believers, a benefit
to raise money for the Children’s Specialized Hospital in New
Brunswick. The Benefit will take place at the Brown Stone Bar & Grill
in Metuchen from 3-7 p.m.
Every year, Local 75, along with its SOA, sponsors this event to
help children at the hospital suffering from Autism, chronic
illnesses, brain injuries and general rehabilitation. With the help of
radio station WPLJ 95.5 that is advertising the fundraiser, the two
organizations hope to raise as much money and recognition for the
worthy cause as possible.
All proceeds from ticket sales, raffles, 50/50s and prizes will go to
the hospital and the Brown Stone has agreed to donate a portion of
the food and bar tab as well.
To contribute, make checks payable to the Children’s Specialized
Hospital in the name of “Brody’s Believers.”
