Let it ride at the next Convention We just completed the annual Mini-Convention at Caesars in Atlantic City, which as you know, means we have also formally announced the location and dates for the annual PBA “Main” Convention. If you didn’t pick up your convention packet at the registration table PETER in Atlantic City, then you will be ANDREYEV glad to know that this year’s Convention will be held at the Red Rock Resort and Spa located in Las Vegas Sept. 18-25. The resort is located in the Red Rock Mountains overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. As always, the resort will assign rooms on a firstcome first-served basis, so I highly recommend getting your application in as soon as possible. I can’t tell you how difficult planning for the Convention is when we get last minute applications. Help us help you! Getting us your information sooner-than-later is better so we can make proper arrangements to make this event run as smoothly as possible. This year, we will be offering a land-only package, so if you have points or miles to use on a certain airline, you can book your flight on your own and book just the rooms with us. Or, you have the option to let us do everything for you. If you book the entire trip through us, we handle your flights and room arrangements for you. Remember, whether you book the land-only package or the entire trip with the PBA, there are extra perks included with the price: First, you can enjoy the shuttle buses from the resort to the Las Vegas Strip. There are also various businesses that will provide discounts for our members while attending the Convention. You will receive tickets to the Welcome Reception at the Red Rock Resort, and when in Vegas, who couldn’t use a few hours of free food and adult beverages? The Welcome Reception is always a great time for seeing everyone and socializing; we would hate to see you miss out on the fun! And just one more reason to book directly with the PBA: If you didn’t attend the convention in 2012 when we were last at the Red Rock resort, we know you will love all it has to offer – everything from the spa to gaming, shopping, restaurants and bars, and even a movie theater with private viewing booths. There’s definitely something for everyone, and if you get bored on the property, remember the Las Vegas Strip is just a shuttle ride away! The Annual Convention is usually attended by each Local’s President and Delegate, however the Convention is open to all PBA members and their families. This is a great way for members who don’t normally get to attend State PBA meetings to meet and socialize with members from other Locals who have the same interests in and out of work. If you would like to attend or for more information, please call me or Debbie Perestuk at the New Jersey State PBA office at 732-636-8860. d PENSION AND BENEFIT SEMINAR CALENDAR March 27 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration April 1 Stamler Police Academy 1776 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains 1:30-3:30 p.m. registration April 8 Bergen County Jail 160 South River Street, Hackensack 12:30-2:30 p.m. registration April 23 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration May 1 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration May 28 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration June 9 Middlesex County Fire Academy 1001 Fire Academy Drive, Sayreville 10 a.m.-noon registration June 10 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration June 11 Somerset County Police Academy 402 Roycefield Road, Hillsborough 10 a.m.-noon registration July 15 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration July 27 PBA Office 158 Main Street, Woodbridge 10 a.m.-noon registration • Multi-disciplinary team approach to weight loss. • Highly trained & qualified surgical, nutritional and psychological experts. • Wide choice of bariatric procedures from LAPBANDTM and Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy to Gastric Bypass and Revisional Surgery. • From pre-surgery consult to post-surgery support, we’re with you every step of the way. • Attend a FREE seminar or call for a one-on-one consultation.
