Retired Ramsey
sergeant completes
Marine Corps Marathon
Ramsey Local 155 Past Delegate Glen Karpovich completed the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) on Oct. 27, 2013 in
Washington, D.C. Karpovich was one of the over 30,000 registered runners entered in the MCM, out of which 23,380 finished.
This year, Karpovich wore a shirt that said “Jersey Strong,”
in honor of those that were affected by and responded to
Superstorm Sandy.
“It was good to be back in Washington and run it again this
year. Last year, it was the day before Sandy hit New Jersey, and
the storm was already getting to D.C,” Karpovich said.
Having only recently gotten back into running several
years ago, Karpovich went from a 5K to the Atlantic City
Marathon in a mere twelve months. He completed this year’s
MCM in four hours and 15 minutes.
Karpovich retired as a Sergeant from the Ramsey Police
Department and is a member of Local 155 and Local 600. d
