A true brotherhood of the badge Brothers on the job in Morris Plains; graduating together in May ■ BY DAN CAMPANA If not for the 10-year age difference, Peter and Michael Rolph could easily be considered twin brothers. Both started with the Morris Plains Police Department as dispatchers and have spent their entire respective careers with the agency. Each has served as Morris Plains Local 254 president – Michael previously, Peter currently. And, they will each pick up a degree from College of Saint Elizabeth in May as they continue their professional development through education. Michael, 41, will earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Studies, while Peter, 31, is on track for a Master’s Degree in Justice Administration. “I have always been close to my brother and looked up to him,” Peter, a patrol officer in his seventh year, said. “Graduating with him will add one more bond that we share together.” Added Michael: “It’s a real accomplishment for me to be attaining a college degree at 41 years old while being a 58 NEW JERSEY COPS ■ JUNE 2015
