NAPO meets with DOJ leaders to discuss the transfer
of military equipment to law enforcement
NAPO met with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and
the Federal Interagency Law Enforcement Equipment
Working Group to discuss Federal support for local law
enforcement agencies after the Obama Administration
announced it will ban federal transfers of military-style
gear to local police departments on May 18.
The banned items are tracked armored vehicles, bayonets, grenade launchers, ammunition of .50-caliber or
higher and camouflage uniforms
