would be catchy and bring people in.”
Well, it worked.
On July 10, the event at the Oak Tree Lodge
in Wall Township drew about 350 people
including Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop,
Assemblywoman Joann Downey (D-11),
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden,
and other local freeholders, mayors and
police chiefs.
And it raised $15,000 for the State PBA Survivor & Welfare Fund.
“We wanted to do something to raise
money for the Fund,” confirmed Tardio, who
is also the Bradley Beach Local 50 State Delegate. “Pat expressed that the funds are starting
to dwindle, so that was our objective and we
did really well.”
