Photographic
Memory
The images emanating from Sept. 11, 2001 will always be
indelible for law enforcement officers. The memories have
grown stronger and more devoted with each passing year
because they will never forget.
They will never forget the 37 sisters and brothers from
the Port Authority Police Department and Local 116 who
were lost that day. They are forever enshrined on the last
column standing from Tower 1 that now is on exhibit at
the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
They will never forget the response of the New Jersey
State PBA, which set up camp out of its Special Services
Trailer at Ground Zero. In the days and months follow-
ing the attack, PBA Locals showed their support by
serving the forces working through the rubble to look
for lost first responders.
They have kept the memory alive by constructing
memorials in towns throughout New Jersey that are
a tribute to all of those lost on 9/11.
For law enforcement officers remembering Sept.
11, 2001, the photos will always be worth a thou-
sand memories. So pause here for a moment to
view some of the powerful images. And remem-
ber.
