Renegade Pigs annual charity event helps fund 7-year-old’s fight against cancer On May 20, the North Jersey Chapter of the Renegade Pigs Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club held its 21st Annual Charity Event at Redd’s Saloon & Grille in Carlstadt. Despite the threat of rain, people turned out to meet up with old friends and make new ac- quaintances while enjoying live music, barbecue food and ven- dor shopping. Renegade Pigs members from chapters across the tristate area attended, as well as members from as far away as Boston and Minnesota. This year, the beneficiary of the proceeds raised by the event was Joey Bulger, a 7-year-old boy diagnosed with acute childhood lymphoblastic leukemia. The disease requires intensive chemo- therapy and other treatments that take a physical, emotional and financial toll on Joey and his family. Joey is the son of Chris, a law enforcement officer of River Vale, and Lauren, a teacher with Paramus Public Schools. The Bulger family is being assisted in their efforts to provide for Joey’s needs by Mayday Missions. More information about Joey and others that Mayday Missions is helping can be found at www.maydaymissions.org. In their remarks to those in attendance, Chris and Lauren ex- pressed their appreciation and gratitude for the support not just of the Renegade Pigs and their friends, but also from the commu- nity in general, who came out to support a child in need.
