LEGISLATIVE REPORT

State PBA announces political endorsements

Political action is among the most significant State PBA responsibilities. Politics can be distasteful, and politicians too often don’ t make decisions the same way that you would. But there is no escaping the reality that there is no part of your professional life and no portion of your paycheck that a politician doesn’ t impact. Ignoring the PBA’ s role in political action is tantamount to gambling with your job and your
ROB NIXON future. If you purchase legal protection coverage from the PBA, you do so just in case the worst happens during your career. You have health insurance, not for when you’ re healthy but for when you get sick. Voting and political engagement is no different.
Supporting PBA candidates helps build a safety net to protect and support you in good times, and especially in bad times.

Supporting the State PBA political action creates security and peace of mind, no matter how much it annoys us to deal with it.
With that in mind, the State PBA Board of Delegates has unanimously adopted endorsements for candidates for the Senate and General Assembly for the Nov. 7 election. Please note the endorsements listed below. The goal of these endorsements is to support candidates who will be needed to support our agenda.
It is critical that members support State PBA-endorsed candidates if you are to expect legislative support for your issues in Trenton. Without political action from the entire membership, the agenda and relationships that we have developed become meaningless. Your voices are heard at the voting booth before we ever walk the hallways of the State House. Our endorsements therefore must mean something if your voices are to be heard as one. d
