Join us in a prayer for law enforcement
The “power of prayer” is essential in my life and
for many of you in your service in law enforcement.
On Nov. 10, we will come together to remember
those who we have lost at the 24th Annual Liturgy of the Blue Mass. Father John McCrone notes
that “It’s not only to remember those who died,
although that is an important part, but also to
celebrate and acknowledge your service in law
enforcement which seems to be a thankless job at
times.”
Father John and I spoke at length about the need
for our communities to join together in prayer for you, our law
enforcement community throughout New Jersey, so as a simple
start, we provided a prayer request for law enforcement to parishes to see what is possible. This year, thanks to the support of
the Archdiocese of Newark, parishes are being encouraged to
include a prayer intention for law enforcement in their liturgy the weekend prior to our Blue Mass. As people of faith, the
power of prayer is asking the Lord to welcome those lost and to
watch over those who continue to serve and protect. A simple
but powerful gesture.
God bless you and thank you. d
