’Tis the Toy-Drive Season NJ State PBA gets ready for another season of giving n BY AMBER RAMUNDO At the Oct. 16 NJ State PBA meeting, a new face stood up to re- mind members that Christmas is coming. PBA State Delegates and members are used to hearing Hank Werner of Bernards Township Local 357 hype up Locals to collect as many toys as possible for the annual NJ State PBA Toy Drive. But when Werner retired in June, the PBA had to find a member with the passion and purpose to chair the Sports and Special Events Com- mittee, fill Santa’s shoes and lead one of the union’s largest holiday efforts. NJ State PBA Toy Drive Dec. 4 Pines Manor 2085 NJ-27, Edison PBA Locals can start dropping off toys at 9:30 a.m. When Vittorio Spadea was asked to take on the responsibility and chair his first PBA committee, he knew that he would have to make sure that the 12th annual Toy Drive continued to earn its charitable reputation. After 15 years on the job and serving three years as the Somerville Local 147 State Delegate, Spadea felt ready to take on the challenge. “Vito [Spadea] and I are very close friends.
