Election 2018 Ocean County Conference makes the calls for Congressman MacArthur The race in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District ap- peared to be one of the closest in the entire 2018 midterm election. So the Ocean County Conference figured that a desperate time called for an extreme effort on behalf of incumbent Tom MacArthur, who has been a longtime supporter of law enforcement and had a voting record to walk the walk. Long Beach Island Local 175 State Delegate Kevin Snow heard the call and knew how serious it was. So to do his part at the phone bank the Ocean County Conference set up to get out the vote for MacArthur, Snow brought his two young children. And while they sat by and pa- tiently colored, Snow joined the force to smile and dial. “Congressman MacArthur has been pro-everything for us,” commented Artie Cronk, Manchester Township Local 246 State Delegate and one of the co-chairs of the Ocean County Conference. “We knew it was going to be a tight race, and we knew that there was going to be a big turnout.” Under the direction of Ocean County Conference Chair Frank Cipully, Barnegat Local 296 State Delegate Chris Ebert, also a co-chair, organized the phone bank on Nov. 1 at the Ocean County Republican Headquarters. Approximately 20 PBA members rotated through from 4:30 to 8 p.m. to make calls.
