Middlesex County Sheriff’s
Local 165 inspires future
K9 officers
Young cadets at the Curtiss-Wright Composite Squadron of
Civil Air Patrol received an exciting visit when two Middlesex
County Sheriff’s Local 165 members stopped by to share infor-
mation about the work and training of K9 officers.
Raphael Morales and Local 165 President Kevin Mastroserio
led the training session at the American Red Cross in Fairfield,
where cadets ages 12 to 18 learned about bomb- and drug-
sniffing K9s, as well as the dedicated work of their handlers.
The Local 165 members brought along German Shepherd
K9s Celeste, Bry and Candece for a demonstration held in the
presentation room. The cadets were thrilled to have the officers
visit and teach them about the responsibilities of K9 work, and
they thanked the Local 165 members for their visit. Many cadets
were overheard commenting how they would like to become K9
officers. d
