The women and men in NJ State Corrections did not choose
to serve because they wanted recognition. “Rather, each took
the job and undertook the acts out of a sense of duty,” praised
NJ State Corrections Local 105 President Brian Renshaw.
On May 4, Local 105 held its 2018 Officer of the Year Awards
Luncheon to recognize its officers who have exceeded the ex-
pectations of their job. Local 105 gathered at Ariana’s Grand in
Woodbridge to honor 20 officers.
“I am excited to stand here as President of PBA Local 105 and
bestow these awards on such deserving officers who have gone
above and beyond their call of duty and are being recognized
for their heroic acts,” Renshaw stated proudly.
Some of the honorees were recognized for their work in state
corrections facilities throughout the state. Some were honored
for work they achieved while out of uniform.
“I am privileged to take part in honoring the exceptional men
and women of the Department of Corrections who are being
recognized today for their outstanding dedication and bravery
displayed every day, both on and off duty,” NJ State PBA Presi-
dent Patrick Colligan affirmed.
Local 105 recognized 20 individual officers for their efforts
that showcased the exemplary work that is done in state cor-
rections every day.
“These individual achievements also highlight the nobility of
our profession,” Renshaw concluded.
