Chief: “Pat, we have some very serious allegations about you that have been picked up by the
press. We have to start an Internal Affairs Investigation.”
Pat: “Oh, that’s not good…...”

Chief: “No, it’s not. You know the rules Pat. The
Attorney General Guidelines; 119 pages on how
to conduct a thorough and complete internal
affairs investigation.”
Pat:“Actually chief, no thanks. I’m going to commission my own
investigation. I’m going to hire a law firm!”
Chief: “And who do you think is gonna pay for that?”
Pat: “The taxpayers, chief.”
Chief: “You don’t know any of these lawyers, do you?”
Pat: “I sure do. I know most of them well, and I’ve even vacationed with one that I used to work with. I’ve also given the firm
about $3.1 million dollars in other business.”
