ar nual Pol 25th An Bear Plunge Going out with a plunge for Rahway Rahway Local 31 member Bill Sherrier felt the pull of a mid-February dip in the ocean and the power of how the Polar Bear Plunge personifies law enforcement. Or how law enforce- ment personifies the Polar Bear Plunge. Sherrier is set to conclude his 25-year career with Rahway on Aug. 1. But before retiring, he apparently had taking the plunge on his law enforcement bucket list. So for the first time, Sherrier joined the Local 31 team that grew to 40 strong this year. “Well, the union has been doing this since it started, so I thought, ‘Why not this year?’” Sherrier explained. “It benefits a lot of individuals who can use the union’s help. Overall, it’s a great experience to help people in general.
