How do you feel the information you received
will help your members?
Vincent Russo, Montclair Local 53 Vice President: This is
probably one of the better ones that I’ve been to. I like the
fact that there were a few strategies that make a lot of sense in
today’s world. We’ll be able to bring that back to our members.
And facilitate that in our ongoing contract negotiations, which
we are in now.
Peter Weremijenko, Trenton Local 11 SOA Financial Sec-
retary: Sometimes, you get a little worn down day after day
dealing with the same things. Then, you come here, you talk
to all the other PBA members across the state and you realize
that some of them have the same problems, some of them have
solutions that you might not have thought of. You bring it back
to the members and you’re kind of rejuvenated.
Bob O’Hare, Hamilton Township Local 66 President: I think it
will be very positive. We have a young department. We’re still try-
ing to reduce the steps, and they want us to make it to max step
as quickly as possible. And I think some of the things that I’ve
learned here and gained here I think are going to help bring a lot
of those steps down, so they can get to max quicker.
Ryan DeGraw, New Brunswick Local 23 Secretary: There’s been
a lot of good information that’s been given out about what other
Locals are experiencing as they’re going through it. We have a
couple years yet until we’re going to have to do this, but it’s good
to start the process. It will help us in building a base of the wants
and what’s realistic for our members for the future.
