dent Ed Cetnar.
“I’ve got to say, Lieutenant Rubio and the two sergeants made
decisions that were so immediate and precise,” Cetnar explained.
“Thousands of people had to be evacuated within minutes out of
the busiest bus terminal in the world, and we did it in a manner
where nobody got killed, nobody got hurt, we arrested the terrorist
and we were back open for business a couple of hours later.”
Clearly Cetnar wasn’t the only one who recognized the magni- tude of this response, as the Port Authority Top Cops also received
the Citizen’s Choice Award given to one of the honorees at the
end of the evening. Collins expressed the gratitude felt by the en-
tire response unit for the support and recognition of an event that
changed their lives but thankfully took nobody else’s.
“The one thing that we’ve been since that day is grateful,” Collins
stressed. “Grateful that we got home safe to our families and for all
of the respect that we’ve gotten from everyone.”
