Princeton Local 130 rallies assistance for residents displaced by fire On Dec. 27, a two-alarm fire occurred at the Griggs Farm Housing Complex in Princeton. One person died and 35 res- idents were displaced. The displaced residents, including four families with children ages 4 to 18, were moved into temporary housing. Members of Princeton PBA Local 130 wanted to do as much as possible for the displaced residents. They organized a “Fill the Truck” event to collect donations to help the families. The event took place on Jan. 2 at McCaffrey’s Market in Princ- eton and was co-sponsored by the Princeton Fire Department and Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad. Shoppers at the market were given lists of the most urgently needed supplies, and many responded generously. Clothing, toiletries and other items were also collected. The generosity of Princeton residents and first responders filled two pickup trucks with groceries and other supplies, which were delivered to the displaced residents.
