Maywood Local 102 displays
bearded benevolence
Berkeley Heights 144 goes
all in for Casino Night
Maywood Local 102 joined the efforts of NJ State PBA Locals
across the state that dedicated a month — or three — to raise
awareness for testicular cancer and men’s health by participat-
ing in No-Shave November.
Officer Tim Cook launched Local 102’s annual initiative to
forgo shaving for October, November and December. May-
wood Police Chief Joseph Natale encouraged the many Local
102 members who decided to participate in the fundraiser,
with each officer contributing $100 a month.
After three months of scruff, Local 102 raised more than
$4,000, which was donated to the Betty Torricelli Institute for
Breast Cancer and the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hacken-
sack University Medical Center.
A portion of the money raised was also distributed to fami-
lies in need.
Berkeley Heights Local 144 held its annual Casino Night
on Jan 12. Many members, including NJ State PBA Executive
Vice President Marc Kovar, and law enforcement supporters
attended the event, where Local 144 welcomed two new hon-
orary silver card members.
