The stars shine brightly in Carteret
On Nov. 4, Carteret Local 47 and its SOA played in a char-
ity basketball game against the Shining Stars Ambassadors
basketball team at Carteret High School. The Ambassadors
are part of the Shining Stars Network, which organizes activ-
ities for people with specials needs.
This game was the first for the brand-new Ambassadors
team. In the first half, they outscored the Carteret officers
and teachers 43-37. After a halftime mini-dance party, the
teams were mixed together for the second half.
The event raised more than $3,000 for the Shining Stars.
It also raised awareness for the special needs community.
