The era of police department consolidation
continues to make its presence felt in New Jersey.
There are several examples of officers getting
squeezed out, and PBA Locals need to keep their
eyes open for signs that consolidation might be
coming. There are also solutions to ease the pain
and even turn it into a win for members. Case
studies of what has happened in some towns and
counties, as well as perspective from some of the
state’s most knowledgeable elected officials,
provide a guide to navigating consolidation.
