Mercer County Conference makes a donation
that comes with a (trailer) hitch
At the PBA state meeting on July 24,
the Mercer County Conference donated
$8,242 to the NJSPBA Survivor & Welfare
Fund.
With the help of Mercer County Pros-
ecutor Angelo Onofri, the county confer-
ence secured asset forfeiture money to
make the donation.
“Anytime we need to get something
done, he’s been very receptive,” Mercer
County Conference Chairman Mike Pel-
legrino commented.
With the donation, the conference won
one of the PBA’s Special Services Trailers
for contributing the largest amount of
money to the Survivor & Welfare Fund
through a sealed bid process. The trailer
and the amount of money donated are a
testament to the Mercer County Confer-
ence’s hard work.
“For the county conference as a whole,
this is a huge step in the right direction to
take that and to work in conjunction with
the prosecutor’s office and all of the oth-
er Locals,” Pellegrino states. “It was really

just a great team effort.”
At the end of the day, Pellegrino said
the county conference members are al-
ways keeping the families who benefit
from the Survivor & Welfare Fund at the
forefront of their minds.
“Obviously, when we put everything
together, we were thinking about the fu-
ture, the trailer and how we were going to
impact the families,” he added. “It was an
all-around good thing that we were able
to do.” d
