raiser for as long as pos-
sible to maximize its
potential,”
McKenna
said. “We don’t want
people to forget this hap-
pened. We want to keep
it going and keep striving
for more support.”
On the day of the
marathon, runners and
supporters will cheer on
Team WillPower, know-
ing that each step Espail-
lat takes while pushing
Will’s stroller is dedicat-
ed to those who lack the
ability to make the steps
themselves. And as the
Local 232 badge is dis-
played proudly on the
Team WillPower jersey,
observers will be able to
see the deeper meaning
behind this journey made for the second time by a law en-
forcement officer who is committed to serving others.
“Anthony has a little bit of extra ammunition this year, be-
cause he’s a police officer,” McKenna said. “There is a little bit
more of a positive light being shed on law enforcement, espe-
cially in this day and age. People can see that this is not the
extent of his efforts and support for others.” d
