THE GIANTS THAT
LIVED ON THE ISLAND
The name «Tombe dei Giganti» (graves of the Giants) has been adopted by archaeologists
from the popular legend that for centuries has seen in these buildings the tombs of great
and powerful beings that once would have populated the island.
This myth must have inspired courage and pride for the Sardinian peoples, that had been
oppressed by the invaders for long time.
