controlling anger, forgiving others, and repenting to Allah  as soon as we commit any disobedience of Allah . The Prophet  has also said, “Spread salam (Islamic greeting), feed people food, join blood relationships, and pray at night when others sleep, and you will enter the Paradise with safety”. ( Jami Tirmizi) If we look at ourselves in the light of these verses of Quran and this hadith, and many others like these, it gives us some principles to earn Paradise. But do we really have the passion to earn it! Our hearts have become stingy, and it is difficult to feed people food. Guests have become a burden. It takes a lot of encouragement before people can actually take out money to spend in the path of Allah . We do not make any effort to control our anger and forgive others. We must know that forgiving others can earn us the forgiveness from Allah . We are involved in the acts of immodesty and shamefulness. We watch immodest things, and do immodest acts. We have hatred in our hearts for each other and do not spread peace, but rather are spreading hatred. Relationships are being cut. We are missing the connection with Allah  that is earned through prayers and duas  (supplication). More so, we sin openly and do not have any guilt, thus do not ask for forgiveness from Allah . All this is of great concern. We need to question our belief. It is the sunnah (way) of Allah  that He raises a group of people in the world and abases others. The same principles that earn us the Paradise in the Hereafter are the principles through which Allah  gives honour to people in this world as well. When Muslims followed the principles, Allah   raised them and they ruled the majority of the world. When Muslims lost those principles, and the others took over, Allah  gave power to them. Now the others are losing these principles as well. Selfishness has started to prevail in the western culture. Immodesty has become common. Dishonesty has taken over people. Looks like that the world order will change again. If we want to be honoured again by Allah  in this world, we need to again acquire those principles that make us worthy of that. Know that before Allah   changes the world order, He filters people out. Honour is not given to those who follow the principles half-heartedly. For that, tests and tribulations come. If we look around our Muslim ummah (nation), we see that there are lot of tests and tribulations. This is filtering people out. We must ask Allah  for forgiveness, repent to Him, and regain the principles of the Quran, and becomes those people who Allah  will choose to honour, instead of being filtered out into further disgrace and abasement. Trying to make this world a Paradise will never make it a Paradise. The honour of this world will definitely come with obedience of Allah  . And remember that is also just a temporary thing. The final abode is the Paradise for which we must make an effort for, and follow the principles set by the Quran. Let’s develop passion for the Paradise!
