WELCOME to the premere issue of Nightmare Alley. Why another horror magazine? How will this one be any different than FANGORIA, SHRIEK, SCREAM, RUE MORGUE, etc?
Nightmare Alley's is not your dad's old horror magazine, it's an experience. Filled with interactive links, audio and video, the focus will be on the indie scene. There are so many talented writers, actors, directors, special FX artits out there that go completely unnoticed. The hard part isn't so much getting your film, book or graphic novel made, as it is to get promotion and publicity for it. Our magazine intends to change all of that. We are fully aware we cannot compete with the aforementioned giants in the industry, and have no intention of doing so. This is all about the struggling filmmaker, author, music composer, and comic book designer, who up until now had no place to go. Now they will.
Nightmare Alley is the brainchild of horror author and indie radio promoter, Thomas Amo. On July 4, 2013, he launched the indie radio station. 92.6 The Blitz, in an effort to bring attention to the world of indie filmmakers, musicians and authors. For the last twelve months he has networked with hundreds of musicians from all around the world. Along with that, the indie film community as well. Special focus on the horror film genre. Just like Radio Rock 92.6 The Blitz, Amo, intends to create a magazine that will bring attention to a community of artists that have chosen to specialize in the horror genre. Remember, everyone started somewhere. George Romero, John Carpenter, Quentin Tarantino, Rick Baker, Danny Elfman. Are you the next, Tom Savini, Blumhouse Productions, Stanley Kubrick, Clive Barker or Stephen King? The world will never know if you don't speak up and claim your spot.
