and all of its western influences, and replace it with a traditional Islamic government. Boko Haram means "Western education is a sin." The group believes that western influences on Nigerian education, media, and values, is corrupting traditional Islamic beliefs. Boko Haram primarily attacks places they think are to westernly influenced, such as schools and United Nations headquarters. These attacks have been very successful, killing several people and injuring hundreds.
