In 2019 , the Neighborhood Services Department implemented NICE Neighborhood Meetings to allow residents the opportunity to be heard in their “ own backyards ” at accessible neighborhood locations . These free community meetings are offered bi-annually to residents , with a more relaxed format than a regular City Council meeting .
As part of the City ’ s effort to strengthen community connections , these meetings provide an open forum for residents to :
• Develop short-term and long-term projects the City can implement with NICE funding , including parks , bike racks , benches , pet waste stations , fitness stations , green space and recreational opportunities .
• Revitalize , improve and maintain the quality of PSL ’ s neighborhoods by communicating with City staff and addressing their concerns and needs .
• Share concerns , questions and comments about existing and future neighborhood improvements , such as sidewalks , beautification projects , safety and more .
• Collectively identify concerns , discuss issues , resolve conflicts and implement solutions to create healthy neighborhoods with a strong sense of community .
• Meet and hear from City staff about beautification efforts , litter prevention , code compliance , crime prevention techniques and new projects .
The City of Port St . Lucie ’ s Neighborhood Services will encourage , facilitate and maximize resident input and participation . PSL wants to hear from you !
