Coming off a year to remember in 2016, Niall is now more
determined than ever to seek out his next challenge in a bid to
achieve his ultimate ambition of becoming a professional racing
driver.
Niall chose the BRSCC Formula Ford 1600 Championship solely
with the aim of securing his ticket to the Mazda Road to Indy
Shootout. Having achieved that goal, Murray’s move to the USA
has now received the desired boost as he sets his sights on taking
on one of the most advanced and well supported single-seater
career ladders in the world.
Starting out with the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered
by Mazda for 2017, Niall is hoping to capitalise on a route that
offers almost $2 million in funding for the most successful drivers to
take him all the way to the Indy 500, and emulate former Formula
Ford 1600 winners such as Gil de Ferran and Josef Newgarden.
