Valedictorian Samuel Castner
Salutatorian Zainab Masoodi
Samuel Castner has been named Valedictorian of the
Grand Island Central High School Class of 2024 . Samuel is the son of Brian and Jessica Castner . He plans to attend University of Minnesota and pursuing a degree in Neuroscience . Samuel has been active in Soccer and Wrestling , making 3rd Team All League Soccer . He also participated in the Gifted Math Program at the University at Buffalo . His sophomore year he was part of the exchange program in Denmark ( CIEE ).
Zainab has been named Salutatorian of the Grand Island
Central High School Class of 2024 . Zainab is the daughter of Asma Syed . She plans to attend the University of Buffalo Honors Program pursuing a degree in Biomedical Science on the pre-med track .
Zainab was awarded the Youth of the Year Award from the Erie County Sunrise Exchange Club , Student of the Month , 1st Team League All Star for Tennis , Pride of the Island Award , Harvard Prize Book Award .
In addition to her awards , she has been a member of National Honor Society , Interact Club Secretary , Student Council , Art Club President , Donate Life Club and a class representative .
Athletically , she has participated in Track and Field and served as Varsity Tennis Captain .
