Challenges Our challenges come in many forms, including educational, social, and financial. Some of these are within our control, many fall outside our direct control. I share with you some of these. ? Standards Alignment – a significant leap from student literacy entrance levels to the expected level required to achieve NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3. A jump of 4 levels in two years. ? Attendance and behaviour – the school continues to liaise with families and caregivers to support us in ensuring students are at school willing and ready to learn. ? Encouraging our local community to consider Ngaruawahia High School as a ‘ viable school of choice.’ The Board of Trustees re cent community survey held in the latter part of this year revealed three significant focus points the school need to address in order to br ing about a change in school-choice: 1. Student’s feeling safe at school 2. Student achievement levels and 3. A wider range of curriculum subjects on offer. These align well with our own priorities and affirms the school’s endeavour to address these matters. ?
