Unfortunately weather sabotaged our overnight camp so it was kept local and day activities were run which included waka ama, ABL (adventure based learning), a Hakarimata walk and a trip to Waingaro Hot Springs topped off by a waka trip down the Waikato Awa. JUNIOR GIRLS CHAMPION JUNIOR BOYS CHAMPION SENIOR GIRLS CHAMPION SENIOR BOYS CHAMPION TYLER EMERY TAWHAI PIHAMA TAZ MORGAN BOBBY MAHARA This year, a new basketball competition was started up in the North Waikato area. This gave our basketball teams a chance to play basketball without it costing too much. The Boys team this year only had a few experienced players from last year and they were able to step up and lead the team, a team with many only starting to play serious basketball this year. The team had a successful year coming Runners-Up and representing our school proudly in the final. Watch this space because with the talent that was displayed they will be a force to be reckoned within in the next year or two. The Girls team this year was a team of many fresh faces. A few experienced and very capable players proudly lead our team of many first time players to the semi-finals of the competition and went down to the eventual winners. Like the boys, with many faces that will be back next year showing plenty of promise and complimented with plenty of enthusiasm they will only get stronger.
