Page 74 - Ngaruawahia High School Kapa Haka USA Tour 1998 Those who visited Temple Square today also went through the Visitors’ Center, and were able to see the displays and be photographed in front of the Christus Statue. A feature of the day was being able to attend the movie ‘Legacy’ in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The film portrayed some of the hardships experienced by the early ‘Mormons’ at the hands of mobs and their trek west towards the Great Salt Valley. Those of the group who attended the various screenings were impressed by the theme of the movie and were glad they attended. Some of our females commented on the good looks of the actor depicting Joseph Smith. They jested that if he was really that good looking they would have followed him too if they were present when he taught his message! Richard Crawford gave those present in the Legacy movie something to remember as he was politely but firmly reprimanded by one of the ushers with the words “Please do not climb over the seats!”. After this the group met at an American smorgasbord restaurant for lunch. The cost of the lunch was US$7.00 per person. Although one could be critical about the quality of the food the quantity was impressive! The group quickly learned that cooking a meal was a rare occurrence in an American home. But we were not complaining – it was great! Te Manawaroa Teinakore on Temple Square. The Delta Centre, home of the Jazz (men) and Starzz (women) basketball teams. This was the venue of some of Michael Jordan’s greatest feats are he denied the Utah team a national title for the second year in a row.
