Ngaruawahia High School Kapa Haka USA Tour 1998 - Page 171 Rihi with a view up Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip) from the front of Excalibur Hotel/Casino. The hotel rooms were 5m by 15m with two double beds, telephone, television, drawers, wardrobe and bathroom. The showers were stingingly forceful with soaps, shampoos, shower caps and towels all provided. The telephones were immediately used as the group rang up each others rooms (and a few that were not part of the groups’). The normal room rate was US$275 per day for three people, but we got a better deal through Karen Rancilio at US$40 per room! Breakfast was all together on the ground floor in the Round Table Buffet and paid for out of the putea at $5 per head. The selection was vast but no-one could go back for seconds! Food plates looked pretty full. Before the group broke up and headed off to explore Las Vegas and its wonders, each pupil received a cash allowance for their lunch and told when to be back at the Round Table for the evening meal if they wanted their meal paid for from the group funds.
