Popular Principal pockets his pen . . .
25 P
rincipal David Bradford, after eight years
at the helm, is calling it a day at the end
of this term.
David has been a very approachable helmsman for
the school, ready to give time to staff and students alike
in their concerns or just to “pass the time” with them.
He came to Ngaruawahia High in 2001 as an
Economics teacher before putting his hat in the ring
following previous Principal Barbara Cavanagh’s
appointment to another school.
David has always been a rugby enthusiast, several
times arriving at school on a Monday morning sporting the
scars of battle!
His active support for all staff and student
endeavours whether academically or “outside the
classroom” had given him the mana of a genuine,
loyal and unassuming leader of our Ngaruawahia
High School whanau.

resignation in Week 8 of Term 2.
My feelings are mixed as I have a
great attachment to the school and
the people within it. My position
has been one of great privilege
when I consider the significance of
the schools location and the good
work of the many people who have
gone before me, as well as the
work of those who are here today.
The staff are the backbone of
any school and I am pleased to say
that we have some extraordinary
teachers here at Ngaruawahia High
School. I can say without hesitation
that the schools Board of Trustees
have been excellent to work with.
