Every seven years you shall return
But you shall not before
But if seven tears hit the waves
You may return to shore
You must shed your costume
Trade your fur for skin
But doing so don’t shed a tear
When the sea calls from within
The tree before me is alive. Its
branches move like arms, reaching for the
humid sun. The leaves whisper to me,
telling me the tale of the ocean before it. I
listen quietly to this time old tale.
The cool breeze of the ocean
sweeps across my sun-kissed face,
suncomforting me, seducing me towards it.
Giving in, I change my costume
and head for the waves. They break on
the rocks, then quickly retreat, ripping
away stones. They break again, rushing
