State officers Nikolas Lazar (Vice President), and James Rao (Secretary) attended the 2014 NLC. Here are some of their tips for making the most out of your NFLC experience.
Nikolas Lazar:
1. Plan ASAP for both registration and how to spend your time at the NFLC. This will ensure that you know which workshops you want to attend ahead of time and allows for adequate 'tourist time'. We
started the process late, meaning that we weren't able to have as
much time exploring Nashville (the NLC host), as we would have liked.
2. Take advantage of the exhibit booths. James and I found a booth
running a contest to win free flights to the 2015 NLC, and Newton South, our chapter, ended up winning the contest. There are plenty
of fundraising and activity opportunities to discover. It is hidden gem of the FBLA conferences.
James Rao:
1. Meet new people. Don’t be afraid to approach strangers and get to know them better at workshops and the FBLA social events. We
met fantastic people from Washington DC, North Carolina, Georgia,
and more locally, Milton, MA.
2. Maximize your time. Attend as many workshops as you can and don’t forget to spend some time at the exhibit booths where there are many opportunities!
