The Department of Health in Jefferson and Madison Counties conducts free COVID-19 testing at the NFC campus on June 26. SENTINELS STAND TOGETHER Community Service North Florida College opened its campus as a COVID-19 drivethru testing site on June 12 and 26 in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Madison County. Hundreds of individuals made their way through campus to participate in the free service. According to Kimberly Allbritton, Administrator for the Department of Health in Jefferson and Madison Counties, close to 300 individuals received free tests on June 26 alone. NFC Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology Instructor Bill Eustace utilized his department’s NFC employees help with Sewing=Giving initiative. 3-D printers to make approximately 200 protective masks that were delivered to first responders at the Jasper Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Police Department, Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, White Springs Police/Fire Department and the Madison Fire Department. The NFC Allied Health department donated approximately 850 individual pieces of non-reusable and reusable personal protective equipment (PPE) including isolation gowns, face masks and protective eye gear to area hospitals, health care centers and emergency medical services locations. Several NFC employees also contributed talent, time and materials to a local sewing initiative, Sewing=Giving, that as Bill Eustace makes masks with 3-D printers at NFC. of June has made over 12,000 cloth masks.
