North Florida College has

been awarded $ 40,000 from the Edward K . The most current award has helped 63 NFC students , including over 40 student parents this past summer , fall and spring at NFC with tuition , books , fees or essential living expenses .
“ Studies show that parents who complete a college degree can often double their income and , in return , have a profound impact on the success of their children ,” said NFC Director of Resource Development Judy Lundell . “ We are pleased to partner with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to award such meaningful scholarships that truly make a positive impact in the lives of NFC students .”
According to Lundell , a two-generation approach to build family wellbeing is important to the NFC Foundation . “ Anytime we can help a parent or a family through the Edward K . Roberts Scholarship account or help a family afford college , that is a great day .”
