Next Door Circus is a platform for contemporary circus and street arts in thr Baltic states. It has existed in our minds for a long time, but was officially registered in March 2014. Now that the first anniversary of the organisation has passed, it’s time to remind you what we did this year and to look forward to what we’re working on next. Our Mission Encourage international cooperation between artists, develop Baltic contemporary circus and street arts and to promote Baltic circus internationally. We believe that the development starts with sharing and collaboration How do we work? • Databases We are working on mapping the Baltic circus. Each artist or qn institution will hqve its profile on or website presenting their work and their needs. So if you are an artist or institution contact us and fill out the form. • Library We are working on collecting all the academic research on circus done in the Baltics and on cataloguing the circus books in the libraries. • International networking and advo- cacy Next Door Circus is a part of the Baltic Nordic Circus Network and will soon join Fresh Arts Coalition Europe and the European circus arts network Circostrada. We are your ears, nose and mouth in the circus world. We can help you to gather advocacy information locally and inform you about possibilities abroad. How can you support us? • Fill out the form and let us know about you! • Like and share us on social media! • Volunteer: all kinds of help are welcome! • Donate and help things happen faster! It will give you more visibility, help you to make contacts and overall: if we show how many we are, it will be easier to advocate for the sector . • Magazine Twice a year we publish an online magazine to inspire and to share good experiences from the Baltics and abroad. It is as well a place where local actors from the art field can express their thoughts, needs and make themselves heard. We are sure that talking and writting about circus is an important tool in order to develop the sector.
