And those images from Africa ? Eleven years later I decided to experiment . Not a lot of pixels to play with , so I tried abstracts requiring less detail . That made the colours , contrast , and vibrancy more critical to shaping , refining , and defining the final image .
Thinkin ’, a closeup of a zebra partially illuminated by sunlight , is part of my evolution from boats to landscapes to cityscapes to plant abstracts to night images to animal abstracts . Some more successful than others , but all equally important .
A friend once remarked that my images had encouraged him to see things differently . He was no longer driving past a field because it was only a field .
Or walking by a tree because it was only a tree . He now stopped , looked , and reacted . He was seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary . How did this make me feel ? In one word ? Lucky .
