How to Make a Successful ARTCF Golf Tournament : Good Weather and Good Volunteers

Frank Bruseker | President , Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation
After two years of postponements and a long time keeping our distance from each other , the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation ( ARTCF ) golf tournament was finally able to take place earlier this summer , on June 16 . We could not have asked for better weather or a better turnout . Thank you to all who participated — our generous sponsors , the staff of the Ponoka Golf Club , and all the ARTA volunteers — your time , energy , and hard work ensured the day ran smoothly .
Between the entry fees , contributions from our sponsors , and donations both on and off the course , the Foundation raised over $ 25,000 to help Alberta ’ s seniors . This money will go toward various initiatives throughout the province that help seniors secure access to health-care resources , adequate housing , and English as a second language education . These initiatives not only serve today ’ s seniors but lay a foundation of support for generations of seniors to come .
ARTCF ’ s next charity golf tournament is still a long way off , but all ARTA members are encouraged to look for the announcement and sign up or volunteer if you are able ; there is no better way to spend a summer afternoon , and it ’ s for an incredible cause . In the meantime , if you ’ re interested in helping ARTCF achieve its vision , please visit arta . net / artcf to read more about our organization and consider donating . Every little bit makes a difference and contributes to the well-being of seniors in our province .
