Annual Meeting Recap
Attendance was strong at MALP ’ s Annual Meeting on Tuesday , November 14 , 2023 , at The German Club in Walpole , MA .
MALP president , Karen Kerr , MCLP , gave an overview of MALP activities . She thanked her fellow board members , and the management team , for a successful year including well-attended dinner meetings , a fantastic Fall Field Day , and new online study prep for the MCLP program . In a concerted effort to more closely align with NALP , Karen reported that the association will now be referred to as MALP ( which , as Karen noted , makes actually makes more sense ).
Past president , Brian Churchill , MCLP ran the elections and introduced Chris Connors , MCLP as the new president of MALP . Chris ’ first order of business was to recognize Karen for her leadership as president and welcome the newest member of the board , Johnny Kwasek , MCLP . He also shared his industry experiences and plans for the coming year ( see President ’ s Message page 4 ).
Following the business meeting , Jenn Myers , Executive Director of the NALP Foundation and Senior Director of Workforce Development . She led a discussion about the many concrete and unique ways NALP is growing the workforce , promoting the benefits of healthy landscapes , and advocating for positive
