Welcome to the summer term

In normal circumstances this would be the start of the final term of the academic year. As it stands we are now in the 6th week of the Coronavirus lockdown, during which we have been asked, where possible, to stay at home and help prevent the spread of Covid 19. We would like to thank our families for supporting this effort, and hopefully we will soon see the start of a gradual return to the way of life that we recognise. We understand that parents and children may feel anxious and uncertain about the current situation; click on the image to access a child friendly online book explaining the coronovirus to children.

As yet there is no information from the government regarding when the lockdown might be eased, or when schools might begin to re-open. However, please be assured that we will keep parents informed of any developments in that regard. Please keep an eye on the school website and the Twitter feed for up to date information.

In the meantime, we continue to provide online learning activities for pupils (more information about that later) and childcare for the children of key workers and vulnerable children.

We are getting lots of positive feedback from families regarding the home learning resources. The teachers are working hard to ensure that the activities are updated daily and that there is enough of a variety to both interest and challenge the children. If you don’t do anything else, please do a bit of reading a bit of physical activity every day.

More information about home learning can be found on our school website here

This is also our ‘Coronavirus update’ page, where all sorts of useful information and updates from the government can be found.

If you follow us on Twitter @StJohns_Eagle you will get notifications when new information goes on the website.

The Twitter feed also has links to other activities that your children can participate in

such as Mr Corbett’s Challenges and TT Rock Star battles.

We are delighted with the amazing images, poems, video clips and more that are coming through the [email protected] email account. Keep sending them in, and don't forget to include your child’s class or teacher in the email, so that we can forward the emails to them.
