harvest festivals
This year’s Harvest Festival will take place on the morning of Wednesday 9th October at St John’s Church, Wolverhampton Road, Essington. There will again be three separate services held during the morning as detailed below:
9.30am - Year 1 & Year 2
10.30am - Reception & Year 4
11.30am - Year 3 & Year 5
Each year it becomes increasingly difficult to accommodate all our pupils and those parents who wish to attend. Often parents and children can find themselves very overcrowded and this can of course have a negative impact on what should be an enjoyable experience. To alleviate some of the pressure on the available space in the church for our 74 Year 6 children we will hold a separate service here at the Academy on a separate date, for children only.
We would also like to ask for your support with the Essington Food Bank run by Essington Parish Council by asking that pupils bring in 1 item of non perishable food such as tinned or packet foods, crackers, pasta, rice or cereals to their class before 9th October. These items will then be passed onto the Food Bank who can support the local community in need.

After school clubs
We would like to kindly ask parents to ensure that they inform the Academy office or their child's teacher if they are unable to attend an after school club.
Parents of pupils who are currently on a waiting list for clubs will be contacted should a place become available, where there is a high demand for a club this will be offered to pupils on the waiting list in the next term where possible.

Could we ask parents of children who are new to the Academy to ensure that they have returned their data forms. If you are unsure if you have returned these, please speak to a member of the Academy office team.
These forms are important as they contain space to record emergency contact details and medical information for your child along with the opportunity for you to agree whether your child’s details can be used on various forms of media and Academy documents to celebrate their successes.
