Mrs Wright

During the Christmas break our Special Needs Co-ordinator, Mrs Wright, gave birth to a baby boy, Jonah. I am pleased to say that both are fine and I know you would like to join with me in wishing them well.

Mrs Wright is planning on returning to St. John’s later this year and in the interim period I am pleased to say that Mrs Taylor, who herself returned from Maternity leave this month, will be covering the SENCO role.

Office Re-structure

Over the next few months we will be undergoing a re-structuring of the staffing in our Academy Office. In recent weeks we have been grateful to a few parents who have worked in a voluntary capacity in the office. This arrangement will continue for a short period of time while we start the process of recruiting for a new role. We will of course be endeavouring to maintain effective communication between St. John’s and parents and hope that in the long term greater efficiencies will be delivered. Your patience and understanding during this interim period will be appreciated.

Mrs Husselbee who has worked in the office for over 14 years has decided to resign her position at this time and will leave St. John’s at the end of the month. On behalf of the Academy staff, pupils and governors I would like to thank her for her service and wish her well in the future.

Class Assemblies

This term we start our programme of class assemblies to which parents are invited. All 17 individual classes will deliver an assembly between now and the end of the academic year. These assemblies are held in the school gym and will usually take place on a Thursday with a start time of 9.10 am and be completed by 9.40 am.

A full programme for this term is outlined below and class teachers will issue specific invites nearer to their allocated date.
