Information about your child’s topics and activities such as PE, Reading and spelling lists for this term, can be found on the ‘class pages’ link under ‘The Academy’ heading on the website; select your child’s year group to find up to date information

standon Bowers

A large group of over 70 Y5 pupils attended Standon Bowers this week. They had a great time participating in a wide range of outdoor and adventurous activities, giving all of the pupils the opportunity to challenge themselves and further develop their resilience, independence and determination. The school staff accompanying them have been very impressed with how the children approached the week, showing good behaviour and team work. Well done Y5!

Parents association

Our Parents’ Association is committed to supporting our school and helping our pupils by raising much needed funds over the course of the year. These funds are then used for a variety of things such as paying for the school minibus, contributing to lower the cost to parents for school trips for all pupils, funding the Christmas and End of Year parties and for providing equipment such as the outdoor gym. This year, for example, the PTA is in the process of raising funds for an outdoor classroom for the school.

As a result of some changes, we are looking for new volunteers for the four PTA committee roles and would welcome anyone interested in the following:

PTA Chair – responsible for setting and chairing monthly meetings, general organisation, coordination and oversight of all PTA events and activities.

Vice Chair – supporting the Chair in their role, with responsibility of managing some events as needed.

Treasurer – responsible for all finance and insurance, including floats, banking and accounts

Secretary – responsible for maintaining the organisation of the PTA with general admin, including meeting agendas and minutes and managing correspondence.

We would also welcome any new members to help support the PTA in any way you can.

If you are interested in one of the committee roles and want to put your name forward, or are able to support the PTA in other ways, could you please email [email protected] by Friday 8th February.
