Anoka-Hennepin students receive state recognition with art and writing‘ Gold Key Awards’
Anoka-Hennepin high school students were awarded for their outstanding artwork and writing at the Minnesota Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Hailey Hlavinka, a senior from Blaine High School, was honored with a Gold Key Award for her original and creative portfolio( art) piece,“ Growth,” this year.
In addition to Gold Key Awards, several Anoka- Hennepin students were honored with Silver Key and Honorable Mentions at the state level.

Early Childhood Center receives national recognition as a Certified Nature Explore classroom
Riverview Early Childhood Center( RECC) in Brooklyn Park recently earned certification as a Nature Explore Classroom. The national certification positions Riverview as a member of an expanding network of more than 600 nature-based spaces that foster highly effective, nature-based outdoor learning experiences.
These unique outdoor classrooms offer interactive, open-ended materials and elements that allow them to use their creativity, imaginations and initiative.
High School theater performances set
Anoka-Hennepin schools will host a variety of musicals and theater performances in the coming weeks. The community is welcome to show support for students and enjoy quality entertainment presented by theatre programs April- May.

Watch for a new catalog with fall classes coming at the end of July! No matter what your interest or skill level, Community Education offers hundreds of year-round classes for adults ages 18 and up. Adults with disabilities
Specialized classes offer educational, recreational and social activities for adults with developmental disabilities to practice life skills and to increase independence, communication and community integration. Call 763-506-1290 with questions.

Early learners
Educational and enrichment classes are available for families with young children ages birth to kindergarten. Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE) classes give children the chance to build school readiness skills while parents discuss ways to help their children become confident, independent learners. Youth enrichment
The Community Schools program coordinates a wide variety of fun classes and activities to enhance your child’ s academic and social experiences afterschool, in the evening, and over the summer. Opportunities for students in preschool through grade eight include arts and crafts; science, technology, engineering and math( STEM) classes; language and performing arts; sports and recreation; and swimming.
